This is a Living Room we did in Santa Rosa where we were able to mix a few new pieces in with existing ones to achieve a dramatic result.

We started by taking an inventory of the items we would keep (rug, coffee table, lamps, tufted chair) and moved everything else out.  Next, we rotated the rug to face the fireplace and brought in a new sofa, wing chair, console, end table, accessories, art, mirror & voila!

Here it is from another angle, you can see how the layout of the room made it feel smaller and also blocked the view of the fireplace and out the windows. 

We re-oriented the space to give it a more cohesive feel & opened it up to play up the nice architectural elements of the room.

By adding lighter colors we brightened up the space & made it feel larger.

We used the console table that was behind the front door and moved it over to where the armoire had been, balancing out the room without overwhelming the space.  Adding some artwork & a few accessories finish it off nicely
